Michael’s mission is “To assist organizations implement healthy change and learning
that will help them achieve and sustain improvement in total performance.” He has been
a change agent for more than 30 years, working with a broad range of clients in the
private and public sectors. These services include Strategic Execution, Self-Management,
Systems Improvement and Leadership Development.
Michael earned a Bachelor of Industrial Engineering, a Master of Science in Industrial
and Systems Engineering, and a Ph.D. in Adult Education, all from the Ohio State
University. Michael is also a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Ohio.
As a consultant, Michael’s firm designed and implemented a workforce development
program for a client that was awarded the Governor’s Workplace Learning Award
(1997). He has implemented performance management systems that have helped clients
achieve goals at the individual, team and organizational levels. Michael has facilitated
numerous retreats and has coached management teams to execute their plans. He has
taught and implemented productivity improvement initiatives for operational excellence.
He has written numerous papers in business and academic publications.
Michael is a recently retired Associate Professor of Management for the College of
Business and Economics at Ashland University where he was the lead MBA faculty at
the Columbus Ohio center. He taught Organization Development, Operations
Management, Strategic Management and Self-Management & Accountability in Ashland
University’s MBA program. He has conducted continuing education workshops and has
spoken frequently at college classes, professional, and business organizations. Michael
was Chair of Ashland University’s Graduate Council and is a member of Ashland
University’s Graduate Cabinet. He was awarded the Meritorious Service Citation by the
College of Engineering of the Ohio State University in 2004. He was inducted into the
Glo-Bus (a world-wide business simulation program) Hall of Fame as a Master Professor
Michael is a member and past president of the Capital City Organization Development
Network. He is a past president of the Central Ohio Chapter of the American Society for
Training and Development. During his year as president (1985) the chapter won the
National Excellence Award. Michael is a former board member of the Ohio Association
for Adult & Continuing Education and Waldorf Education of Columbus.
